Attic Insulation

Seal the roofline or attic floor so upstairs rooms are easier to heat and cool.

Attics and rooflines are where a lot of comfort problems start. We spray the assembly that makes sense for the house: attic floor, roof deck, bonus room knee walls, or tricky framing that batts leave exposed.
Your attic is probably the biggest reason your energy bills are so high. Hot air rises, and without proper insulation and air sealing, it goes straight out through the roof — running up your heating costs all winter and making your AC work double-time in summer. It's one of those things that's easy to ignore because you don't see it, but you definitely feel it on every utility bill.
Spray foam solves the problem in a way fiberglass batts never could. We spray it directly onto the surface where it expands to seal every crack and cavity — around rafters, wiring, plumbing, recessed lights, all of it. The result is a continuous air barrier that keeps conditioned air inside your home where it belongs.
We do attic insulation two ways depending on what makes sense for your home. Open-cell foam on the attic floor creates a traditional vented attic — that's the most affordable option if you don't need to use the attic space. Open-cell foam on the roof deck turns the attic into conditioned space, which is great if you have ductwork up there or want to use the square footage.
Current Indiana energy code calls for R-49 in attics. Open-cell at 8–10 inches gets you R-29 to R-36, and at 14 inches you hit R-49+. If you need moisture protection on the roof deck (ice dam issues, for example), closed-cell at 3–4 inches gives you R-19.5 to R-26 plus a vapor barrier.
Open-cell attic insulation starts at $0.35–0.45 per board foot. Use our cost calculator for a quick estimate, or give us a call — we'll come take a look and tell you exactly what your attic needs.
